Where to find today’s official update
Use the official Steam news hub for dated developer announcements. Before applying advice from a patch note, check whether it names the demo or the full game, and whether it applies to your platform. An old demo version number is not evidence that a current PC, PS5 or Xbox installation needs the same update.
For a useful bug report, record the installed version, platform, exact error and the action that triggered it. Keep that information beside the announcement you are comparing. A published fix describes the issue addressed in that build; it cannot guarantee that every similar symptom has the same cause.
Demo 1.01: memory and tutorial stability
The archived first demo hotfix addressed memory-management and tutorial-screen crashes. It also covered places where players could become stuck, improvements to Lantern interactions and performance work in Chapter I and the General Lothaire encounter. These are historical demo changes documented in the earlier research.
Demo 1.02: DLSS, XeSS and blocking
The second archived demo hotfix restored DLSS and XeSS support on compatible hardware. Its crash fixes included player events and blocking. Read that combination as a change to a specific demo build rather than a recommendation to replace files in the retail game.
Demo 1.03: loading, effects and audio
The third archived demo hotfix addressed Witch Hunt loading crashes and crashes involving corrupted blood effects. Other changes covered looping audio and GPU autodetection. If a current error resembles one of these entries, first check the current announcement and build instead of assuming the old demo patch is the required download.
Why demo patch notes need their own label
The developer’s later development update explains that the bespoke demo levels differed from the finished game. That prevents a reliable one-to-one mapping between the old demo’s fixes and a retail version history. This page keeps the archived patches available for reference while directing current update checks to the developer’s news feed.
